September 29th cannot come soon enough! Wait… yes, it can. I still don’t have a PS3 yet! D’oh! >_<

  1. I am about to SRWOGasm.

    Oh. My. Freakin’. GAWD!!

    – Overall, the animation quality is just a good as the PS2 games, but with the additional HD-level resolution with lots of added little nuances (like the added sound effects of Alt’s Bunker shells hitting the ground) make this a big step up from previous consoles.

    – The Full-size cut-ins as well as the SD mecha themselves seem to have more moving parts that make up each sprite. That Hyper Boost Knuckle attack made the Grungast Kai look like it was flexing muscles!

    – So good to see that the KAISER is back! Folka may not be here, but Kouta and likely, Shouko will pick up the slack.

    – More Balmar grunt mecha. This could go well past the Alpha 2 storyline and straight into Alpha 3 unless they’ve somehow merged them.

    – Aile Chevalier’s silhouette from behind during the Cipher Sword attack kinda resembles Dann of Thursday with a shield. I like it :)

    – Bouncy Katina. About damn time.

    – Daizengar is STILL the badass. No spoken line for Zengar in this early trailer…does that mean this is actually new dialogue?

Ah, this was such a brief taste of the sweet nectar…dammit.

    1. While Kaiser looks cool, I’m not sure what is so great about him until I finish OGG. Is he like the GaoGaiGar of OG or something?

All the camera angles and posing makes the animations look like a martial arts film :D

      1. He’s the Masami Obari mech (Gravion, Dancouga Nova) of OG.
Has nice main frontliner stats, and lots of classic super robots move like rocket punch, beam from the head/chest. And like every Obari mech, his finisher is a sword attack.

  2. i dont know anything about this game series, but im glad to finally see a game for the ps3 without completely overdone gameplay graphics.

    1. PS3 is not region locked, but the games and some older non-HD TVs are locked. The PS3 can play games from any region, but those TVs that are locked will not be able to display the games not made for their region.
      here’s my personal experience:
i once got a PAL version of Bioshock from HK and was able to play it fine on my old TV with multi region capabilities. when i switched to my HD TV, it still works. I’ve also lent the game to a few people with older tubes that can only take NTSC. Apparently, once they select the game in the XMB menu and load the game, the screen stays black.
Another time. for odd reasons I ended up with an extra copy of Modern Warfare 2…and it was Korean… it worked just the same, and surprisingly was identical to the North American version in terms of content including all english menus. Only the box and the disc was different in that it Korean on them. My bro later sold it to his friend, which apperently has an old and terrible TV, but despite that, the game runs fine becease Korea also uses NTSC.

So if you want to get a game from another region, don’t worry about the PS3, worry about whether your TV can read the signal instead.

    2. Yea.. PS3 has no problem playing games from anywhere around the world because it is not region-locked. This is my first time hearing about TV’s being locked though ^^;

      1. REPEATING SRWZ2 AGAIN, THAT’S WHAT, TRYING TO GIVE EVERYONE 9999 PP, OR JUST PLAIN TRYING TO WATCH MARGUERITTE BOUNCE, JUST LIKE WHAT WE’VE ALL BEEN DOING. D:

          1. NAH MAN. NOT EVEN YOKO’S ARE AS IMPOSSIBLY BIG AS MARGUERITTE’S, AND BANPRESTO GAVE US LIKE A ZOOM IN ON THE BOUNCH ITSELF, YOU JUST LIKE YOKO’S BECAUSE SHE’S WEARING BIKINI AND DAISY DUKES UNDER. D:
OH AND THAT REMINDS ME, I SHOULD PICK UP THE OL’ SKETCHING PENCIL, MARGUERITTE AIN’T GETTING ENOUGH LOVE FROM RULE 34. D:

  3. Umm…this may seem a little personal but how old IS Z? He mentioned something about exams in one post. Is he in Uni?

  4. This actually doesn’t look as good as i thought. I mean, a turn based game on a PS3 seems a lil low tech considering the amount of things that a PS3 can do. This style of games are more suited to the 3DS since it has a easier way to access the different panels with a stylus, which the PS3 uses the D-pad or the analog stick. I am not bashing the game, but it does not seem to be using the capabilities of the PS3 to its full extent.

    1. No, it probably doesn’t use the PS3’s hardware to its extent, nor does it have to. It does however, push the envelope for the SRW series once more. Fans of the series won’t really care about hardware, anyway.

    2. If by not using the PS3 system to its full extent, you mean 3D graphics and all that real-time rendering and stuff then I’ll pass. Take GT5 for example, it looks ultra realistic but is marred by many problems including ridiculous loading times. This type of animation does more than exceed the best animation currently available (SRWZ2). Besides, I don’t think I am wrong to assume that over 90% SRW players want to keep things in the 2D world ^^.

Lastly, this is a youtube video of a game that is still in development. It’s bound to look a lot better actually playing it in person. That’s for sure.

    3. REAL MEN LIKE IT TURN-BASED. Sometimes, just sometimes, you should take a little break from all the real time zombie skull-popping and let the characters kick ass by themselves. Besides, this trailer doesn’t show the most powerful attacks which will certainly be a spectacle to watch. My friends at school didn’t get the point of SRW, and were all like “Dude it’s just mad cutscenes.” Not everyone agrees with SRW’s greatness.

  5. Wow, kinda weird they didn’t show a single Gundam in that whole thing, unless Gundam isn’t going to be included.

I wish they would make a SD Gundam game like this…it looks awesome.

    1. Hehe… it’s Super Robot Wars ORIGINAL GENERATIONS. No Mazinger, no Getter, no Gundam. All Banpresto Original units in their own unique storylines.

And yes, I’ve always wished for a SD G Gen in SRW format too!
