Compared to its HG boxart and other MG boxarts such as the 00 Raiser, Epyon, and DSH, the 7Sword boxart looks… disappointly mundane. Kinda unexciting. Unfitting. But of course, the boxart can be the most boring thing in the world and it wouldn’t matter because we all know just how awesome 7S is, right? ^^.
Four spots for the LED: Head, GN Drives, and the Buster Sword. Sadly, 7S doesn’t even come with one. This is where the MG Exia IM and MG oo Raiser comes in handy.
I noticed all the MG Wing units have “that kind of face”… that -_- mugshot. It looks good but it makes it seem like all five gundams are derived from the same design (which I guess they kinda are…). Sandrock is my least favorite GW Gundam (right down there with Wing Zero/WZC) but this design 0f Sandrock I like. I like how it has a more standard chin instead of the TV ver’s “beard chin”. This SR also looks sleek while keeping its “bulk”. I also prefer this color scheme over the Sandrock Custom’s blue and white as this looks more… sandrocky.

Not Gunpla but… damn. This RD Unicorn has quite the exaggerated articulation. It can even do the Turn A pose! I don’t think any of the Unicorn Gunpla can pull off this sort of stuff o_O.

As most of you should probably know by now… I am currently reviewing the RG 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam. Spilled the beans on it a couple of days ago but I am still not done with it yet. Ran into some technical difficulties with this kit which I will cover in the review. Still, I would like to finish this before the week is over because…. well, if I don’t get it done this week then I’m not sure how much longer it will be delayed for since school starts next week ^^;. And here I was hoping to cramp in just one more review before the end of the month too…

Bandai really knows how to get money from our pockets XD Seven sword is a definite must buy for me. I’m even thankful i havent gotten the OO-Raiser MG yet because of the 7S.
I’m really digging that gun more than the sword though XD

…This left me unable to respond for a few seconds when I first read it. Because, first of all, you answered your own complaint; blame the story writers and the logical sense that Katoki should be the designer of the Gundams and enemy MSs. :P Second, I don’t know where you get “-_-” from Katoki’s standard intimidating Gundam face, which works and is sleek in a balance between the old-school Gundam designs of Okawara and Katoki’s newer-yet-joining-the-ranks-of-old-school designs.
I noticed the MG colors of Sandrock seems to have a little deviation with the main usage of gray; some areas are darker when I believe they were more streamlined in the original ’97 lineart. I’ll have to go check on that, now that I’m looking at the pictures again. By now, though, Sandrock’s got an awesome MG cover. :P
Okay, maybe I’m biased and I liked the designs too much to designate a hated design, but I don’t get why Katoki’s Sandrock/SR Kai seems to be disliked in general, let alone by an MS sword/close combat fan such as yourself, Z. Just look at those huge heat shotels and imagine getting up close to one of ’em in a grunt MS.

Finally, you’re starting to see the appeal of Robot Damashii from my viewpoint. Now go and get a couple. :)
Anybody else notice how the normal 00 has seven swords already? The beam sabers, the arm-spike-shield thingies, the two gunXswords, and the GN sword III. Then again, the 7S/G has 8 swords if you count the G part :P
Hey Z, Dalong’s review of the 7S shows 1 LED included… Maybe you were ripped off by your hobby shop?
Nah the standard is no LED with the 7S. However, many shops do offer a bundle with Bandai’s new LED set they came out with for the 00 Raiser and 00 7S.
