Kamen Rider Stuff

This was the fate of all my SH Figuarts Kamen Rider figures. I had to clean my room before I moved to Japan but I was running out of time so I just threw them all in a cardboard box. Finally took them out of the closet today. Man… that’s a lot of money I’ve spent on Kamen Rider figures in like… one year’s worth of time.

And I still have these guys that I haven’t reviewed either! I just dug them out from the corner of my room to give it a good dusting with a swiffer. I don’t even remember where I got the Kuuga from ^^;. Does any of you still watch Kamen Rider? I’ve given up on following it after OOO. I’m sure the stories are still great and interesting but the suit themes are just so terrible starting with Fourze. What I mean is their equipment and suits ARE straight up toys that look too ridiculous for my suspension of disbelief to handle.  I know the franchise is practically one big toy commercial aimed at kids, and it works, but the show used to be more passive about that stuff, the tone was more serious if not just darker, the main protagonist wasn’t a goody-do-gooder or a let’s-all-be-friends! type guy. How did we went from Kuuga to Kabuto to Fourze to… what in the world of Freakazoid is Kamen Rider Ex-Aid?! I really must be getting too old for this stuff.

Never got a chance to review my acquired SIC figures too. Think I’ll just leave them this way. Probably not going to review the other SHF either unless the KR bug bites me. Speaking of which, there hasn’t been a new MG Kamen Rider since OOO huh?

Last but not least, I’ve also acquired a SH Figuarts Vegeta once upon a time. I’m really bad at reviewing human figures (with facial expressions) but maybe I’ll give this a go later on.

Still focusing on Gunpla at the moment :)

SHFiguarts Kamen Rider Accel Trial Review

My first SHF review for the year and will be my last for awhile as I get back to work on Gunpla. I’m sure some of you have already seen this review coming :). The reason it took me so long was because I took A LOT of photos for this one (100+ photos; similar to a HG/MG review) since it’s a Tamashii Web limited release and all. Gotta make the review a bit special too I guess.

First Gunpla Loot of the Year

First time ordering from fellow comrade Gundam Guy‘s online store and it certainly won’t be my last. Loved the experience and shipping was easy on the wallet since we both live on the same coast- the huge box only cost $15 to ship. All it took was send him an email with what I want, work out a deal, hand over the cash, shake hands, and viola! Here’s what I got…

This was shipped out after Christmas and arrived the same week. After checking it out and seeing how stunning it was in person, I just have to review it ^^;. So here’s my first review of the year- SH Figuarts Kamen Rider Accel! Review wo furikiru ze!

I figured I’ll just finish reviewing all the remaining SHF from the W series (there is all but one left) before I get back to Gundam. It’s not like I can finish any Gunpla at the moment anyway since weather has been at 0 to -2 degrees C for a week now ^^;.

W XTREMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

I am almost done reviewing my line-up of SHF Kamen Rider W! Just one more to go… ;). Gotta save the best for last. This time the review is for the SH Figuarts Kamen Rider W CycloneJoker Xtreme. Well… it’s not really a review but more of a photo dump since the figure is more/less the same like all the other W figuarts so there wasn’t much to say >_>.  The more SH Figuarts I review, the more I am able to assess the figure properly (picking out the flaws; nitpick) instead of just gawking at the awesomeness. I’m beginning to get a feel for where the quality standard is for this series so I know what to expect out of it. Hopefully, this can lead to more informative reviews in the future instead of just photos… ^^;

“HEATMETAL!”*cues sound effect* For today, here’s a review of the SH Figuarts Kamen Rider W HeatMetal. And with this, I’m finally done with the first three main forms of W… so it is time to take a break from SHF for a bit (though I might squeeze in one more for the month). Since today is my day off, I can finally work on the very last bit of my 1/144 Nu (topcoat) and begin its review ^^. Lots to do before I head back to work tomorrow!
